Customer Reviews

I have read all the security critiques on Amazon from all the numerous safety MFG's. Skylink, GE, Bulldog Security etc. I was impressed that the critiques on this product did not mention anything about poor good quality, poor range etc. I initially named the AAS safety individuals and was impressed that over the telephone they could answer all my questions. I would like to let you know that the primary programmer/ auto dialer is the very same on all their units from AAS100 to AAS600 systems. The only difference is the amount of door sensors, motion detectors, sirens and so on etc. They have so quite a few further add on's for their safety system it is extraordinary, such as remote wireless sirens, smoke detectors, gas detectors, water detectors and extra and extra. So I ordered a custom unit from them: 1 key programmer/dialer, 1 remote siren and 3 motion detectors and 2 remote crucial pods. I setup the program on my kitchen table in about 1/2 an hour. The siren is loud, due to the fact I bought the separate wireless siren unit it can be placed anyplace you have an AC outlet. The motion detectors work attractive. Not as well sensitive but operate at long distances. I place 1 on the motion detectors in my den and it looks into my kitchen and will detect you if you walk at the end of the kitchen 40ft away. The main programmer has built in battery backup. I have a 3000 sq ft home and I don't know where to place the 3rd detector, the other two detectors cover my complete 1st floor. I've only had it for a week but I am impressed. You have the potential to dial into this method and listen to what is happening, functions with my blackberry cellphone. You can set the exit and entrance occasions and a lot of additional good programming tricks that you do not get in other systems. This security system with my Avaak Vue wireless cameras are excellent. When the alarm goes off I am in a position to look in and see what's going on from anyplace. Will update in a handful of months.
UPDATE:
The method is good. No complications. I use VOIP Vonage for my household telephone and it operates fantastic on out going alerts from the AAS 100 safety technique, but on incoming calls the Vonage answering service will answer and I can not dial into the AAS 100. SO....I purchased the VOIP Grandstream Handystream 286 adapter from Amazon went to CallCentric and signed up for their VOIP telephone . Its ideal for a alarm method due to the fact it will dial out and I can now contact in to my alarm. Cost? $1.95 per month. Fantastic! If anyone finds a improved VOIP source let me know!
Second update:
Discovered out my dog can set off the motion detectors. No challenge, raised the pointing angle and now my pug does not set off the alarm. My wife and I set it each time we go out. Even with the dog at household. Really like this program.
Third update Feb 2011:
System still operating amazing. Had to replace the 9V batteries for two of the motion detectors, so I would say they final about 6 months. I replaced the batteries on all the units anyway. Painless to do, and I did not have to reprogram any of them. Amazon has some superb offers on 9V Alkaline batteries. I also dropped my VOIP CallCentric and I just use the Vonage VOIP. No need for two systems, I never had to dial into the security technique, no false alarms!

Had this alarm program for the last two months. Also, purchased the GSM Cellular Module, considering that I don't have a land-line.
Immediately after getting broken into my earlier spot, an alarm technique was a have to have for our new apartment household. Ahead of moving in, I began the installation. At 1st, I was concerned with the directions which primarily consisted of a photograph example, but the installation was a breeze. The door alarms are rather simple to mount and based on a flawless engineering. The motion detectors were a bit significantly more troublesome, but I once I figured out how the jumpers coordinated with the spectrum of detection (which is enclosed in those directions), it was fine. I set mine to a big distance, so I really should not have been shocked that the cat set it off. At a mid-distance, my cat didn't trigger it at all.
Although I could have used a bit much more description of the modes (Property, AWAY, etc.), all of the directions for programming the method had been clear and concise. The flexibility of this program is astounding. You can program up to ten telephone numbers and customize the timer delays as considerably as you need to. The essential fobs are brilliant. I have friends that paid $800.00 for their systems and getting had to come by whilst they are gone, I hate the keypad-only systems. You can set this technique implementing the essential fob, which can transmit via our metal door or arm it by telephone.
As for the alarm part, I have had this go off accidentally and by style. The accident part had to do with guests who didn't adhere to directions and my cat. In every single case, I was notified soon adequate to disarm it reasonably speedily. The alarm is loud and deafening inside the apartment, and is absolutely loud sufficient to be heard within the constructing.
I would highly suggest this method. You can use it with a monitoring enterprise for the reason that that is supported, but it undoubtedly beats the $800.00 models that these monitoring businesses charge for their systems. Plus installation is hassle-free and DIY. I really feel safe at night and when I am away. The day-to-day use is straight forward and easy to operate into your morning/night routine.
