Customer Evaluations

I wanted a affordable and painless to install technique to alert me if my young daughter somehow managed to get out of the house whilst I was napping. We have physical security (with locks) but I just wanted an additional layer of protection.
This method met my requirements perfectly. I skipped the screws and double sided tape as this method will be replaced by one thing far more sophisticated in a year. I applied hot-melt glue to attach the door sensors. I locate hot-melt glue simpler to get rid of than double sided tape.
Thanks to the beep generated by the alarm box, I can effortlessly test the sensors by opening a door when the system is not armed. So far, it has been 100% trustworthy in my two story, 3200 square foot property.
I have observed complaints about unreliable operation from other clients. As with any wireless system, your expertise may well differ. Any individual who lives close to a radio or Television transmitter or beneath power lines may well get the wireless connections unreliable.
The key improvement I will make is to switch more than to the embedded magnet sensors that my builder place into the doors and windows. The SC-10W method would operate just fine with that. The principal point lacking which will cause me to switch is the lack of a dialer that can send an alarm by wireless phone or supervised link.
Most bad guys really should be sensible adequate to cut your phone line.
One other wish list item is to use a rechargeable battery in the alarm unit. According to the manual, the alarm unit's battery desires to be replaced even though the unit is powered externally.
Finally, it would be amazing if Skylink's safety and automation systems had been integrated. Envision you could define operating modes for your system.
In "evening at property mode", motion detectors would manage lighting and door sensors are disarmed.
In "sleeping mode", motion detectors would be disabled (not armed, somebody could will need water or to use the bathroom) and door sensors would be armed.
In "weekend at residence mode", each motion detectors and door sensors would be disarmed.
In "out shopping or traveling mode", each motion detectors and door sensors would be armed and the dialer would be enabled.
In "party mode", outdoor lights would be turned on at sunset and private areas of the residence would be alarmed.

We purchased this program to pair the door sensors, remotes and the siren with an SC-100 method. The directions to pair these pieces are not offered in the manual that came out of the box, but it is very easy to download them from Skylink web site for each and every person piece. (I initial created the siren unpaired from the other four pieces it came with.) Overall the setup was rather smooth.
The siren beeps when I disarm the most important unit, but it does not beep when I arm it. This is about the only complaint I have with it. The siren is particularly loud as soon as the alarm is tripped. You will wish you did not hold the remotes subsequent to the siren if you trigger it by mistake. :)
